It’s always inspiring to see the younger generation fueled by passion and a deep appreciation for the machines and traditions of the past. Meet Owen Raska from Eldora, Iowa, who shares the story of how his grandfather came to own a stunning Kenworth and what he’s been doing to restore it. Owen has worked tirelessly to bring this classic truck back to life, complete with a period-appropriate livestock trailer.
Owen and his family rescued the Kenworth from an overgrown state, and through his hands-on effort, he gained a unique appreciation for his grandfather’s rig—an experience few 18-year-olds can claim. Owen personally took on tasks like redoing the plumbing, buffing, and updating, all of which allowed him to proudly showcase the truck at the NoCoast LargeCars truck show in Forest City, IA.
Talking to Owen was a true pleasure. He’s a hard-working young trucker eager to join the family business. His lifelong dream of trucking has become a reality—he now hauls livestock in Iowa with his ’96 Kenworth.
This video not only features the jaw-dropping W900A with a custom sleeper but also offers a glimpse into the future of trucking through Owen’s eyes—a future that’s both exciting and promising. Huge thanks to Owen and the Raska family for sharing this remarkable journey. It’s a story sure to leave you smiling for 15 minutes straight.
