DHL has announced its readiness to incorporate the Tesla Semi truck into its regular operations after completing a summer trial with the electric vehicle. The logistics company initially ordered 10 Tesla Semis back in 2017 and spent the summer of 2024 testing the truck as part of their standard operations in Livermore, California.
As reported by Electrek, the trial included a long-haul journey of 390 miles with a fully loaded truck. DHL reported achieving 500 miles on a single charge, even while maintaining speeds over 50 mph.
Following the trial’s success, DHL confirmed it is prepared to integrate the electric semi truck into its day-to-day U.S. operations. Tesla, however, has not yet begun full-scale production of the Tesla Semi but is in the process of constructing a factory for the trucks in Nevada.
