Several state police agencies are intensifying their patrols as part of a coordinated campaign against distracted driving, spanning a week.

Dubbed the “6-State Trooper Project,” this enforcement initiative kicks off on Monday, April 1st, at midnight and runs until Monday, April 8th, at the stroke of midnight.

The primary aim of this blitz is to crack down on various infractions, including texting while driving, the use of devices by minors, distracted driving, and violations involving federal motor carriers.

Participating in this effort are law enforcement bodies such as the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and West Virginia State Police.

Troopers are engaging in this traffic enforcement operation to coincide with National Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April.

The 6-State Trooper Project represents a collaborative law enforcement endeavor that prioritizes highway safety, criminal patrol, and the exchange of intelligence among participating agencies.
