The PrePass Safety Alliance has just revealed its plans to broaden the reach of its weigh station bypass system by introducing it into four fresh states and incorporating 116 more locations into its network.

Trucks enrolled in PrePass will now be able to skip inspection at more than 75 locations across Rhode Island, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Furthermore, the alliance is erecting 40 additional sites in existing PrePass states like Michigan, Texas, California, Iowa, South Carolina, Utah, Wyoming, Mississippi, and North Carolina. These expansions bring the total number of PrePass sites to over 550, spread across 44 states.

“Our expansion into these four new states and the addition of 116 new sites underscore the alliance mission to enhance the safe and efficient movement of freight on America’s highways,” said Mark Doughty, president and CEO of PrePass Safety Alliance. “But this is only the beginning. Expect further announcements regarding new states and enhancements to our services as we strive to provide our customers with innovative solutions that streamline their operations and help them maximize their time on the road.”

The PrePass weigh station bypass service offers incentives to safe and qualified fleets, allowing them to skip weigh stations and entry ports, resulting in savings of time, money, and fuel. Additionally, PrePass provides toll payment and management services, streamlining toll processes for fleets.

To take advantage of the newly added bypass sites, fleets must outfit their trucks with the latest version of the PrePass app. This updated app grants access to over 20 percent more bypass locations and provides real-time safety alerts to drivers. These alerts include information about work zones, traffic slowdowns, adverse weather conditions, available parking spaces, and more.
