Winter Storm Blair swept through the U.S. over the weekend and early this week, dropping up to 18 inches of snow in some regions. It caused widespread interstate closures, power outages affecting hundreds of thousands, and at least 10 fatalities, according to The Weather Channel.

As the storm continues to bring sub-zero temperatures, multiple states have relaxed hours-of-service rules for truckers to expedite fuel deliveries.

Iowa

Governor Kim Reynolds issued an emergency order suspending hours-of-service regulations for drivers delivering heating fuels like propane and diesel. This order remains in effect until 11:59 p.m. on February 6, 2025.

The Kansas Governor’s Office granted hours-of-service relief for drivers responding to the emergency. This includes general assistance until January 18, 2025, and fuel deliveries until February 3, 2025.
