Several state police agencies are teaming up for an intensive traffic enforcement campaign along a major trucking route this weekend.

The enforcement effort will kick off at midnight on Friday, October 4, and continue through Sunday, October 6, until 11:59 p.m.

Officers from the Indiana State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and Ohio State Highway Patrol will focus on I-70, targeting risky driving behaviors such as speeding, distracted driving, tailgating, aggressive driving, and driving under the influence.

During a similar operation on I-70 last fall, troopers issued 388 speeding tickets, 31 citations for seat belt violations, and arrested five individuals for OVI in Ohio alone.

This I-70 campaign is part of the broader 6-State Trooper Project, which also involves Kentucky, Michigan, and West Virginia state police during other enforcement efforts.
