The latest data from the Energy Information Administration, released on October 2nd, shows that the national average diesel price in the United States increased slightly by seven-tenths of a cent, reaching $4.593 per gallon. This marks the 10th price increase in the past 11 weeks. While there was a drop of 4.7 cents per gallon on September 25th, prior to that, diesel prices had been steadily rising, with a total increase of 82.7 cents over nine consecutive weeks.

In the EIA’s weekly survey, the average diesel price increased in five regions, decreased in four regions, and remained unchanged in New England. Notably, California saw the largest price increase of 6.1 cents per gallon, while the West Coast, excluding California, experienced the largest price decrease of 3.9 cents per gallon.
