Next week, truck enthusiasts and drivers alike have two chances to witness an impressive lineup of custom and operational trucks.
From May 11th to May 13th, the Kenly 95 truck stop, situated in Kenly, North Carolina, approximately 45 miles southeast of Raleigh and conveniently located off Interstate 95, is hosting its 11th Annual East Coast Truckers Jamboree.
Every year on Mother’s Day, which falls on May 14th, the Manheim Auto Auction in Manheim, Pennsylvania hosts the Make-A-Wish Truckers Convoy. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish organization, specifically for the Philadelphia, Delaware, and Susquehanna Valley regions.
East Coast Truckers Jamboree
The East Coast Truckers Jamboree, spanning three days, is a top-notch exhibition of trucks coupled with family-oriented activities and live music. Truck show registration commences at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11th.
The Entertainers, a group of seven musicians, will be the main attraction of the day with their evening concert. Their playlist is a blend of beach music, R&B, and country songs. The concert is scheduled to commence at 7:00 p.m.
The East Coast Truckers Jamboree’s biggest day falls on Friday, May 12th. Along with a live performance by On The Border, a tribute band for the Eagles, the jamboree will also feature a spectacular display of lights. The Lights At Night truck lighting competition will follow the concert, culminating in a stunning fireworks show.
On the last day of the East Coast Truckers Jamboree, which is Saturday, May 13th, there will be a diverse range of activities. The jamboree’s truck show will be judged, and the announcement of the winning entries will take place during the closing ceremony, which starts at 3:00 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule at the East Coast Truckers Jamboree includes several exciting events such as the Heaven’s Saints Motorcycle Show and the Dangerzone professional wrestling. Additionally, a car show will be held throughout the day.
Throughout the jamboree will be numerous prize giveaways.
Make-A-Wish Mother’s Day Truckers Convoy
Truckers’ altruistic nature will be showcased on May 14th, Mother’s Day, during the annual Make-A-Wish fundraiser convoy in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
In the previous year, the Make-A-Wish benefit convoy raised a significant amount of $543,875, with the majority of the donations originating from fundraising sponsorships collected by truck drivers. The convoy is the biggest fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish organization, specifically for the Philadelphia, Delaware, and Susquehanna Valley regions, which grants the wishes of children afflicted with severe illnesses.
In the previous year’s Make-A-Wish fundraiser convoy, the top 30 drivers individually raised an impressive amount of over $300,000, with the highest-grossing driver generating over $50,000 in donations.
Over 500 trucks participated in the previous year’s Make-A-Wish fundraiser convoy. The registration for the convoy begins at 6:00 a.m. on the site, and the event commences at 1:30 p.m.
The event includes a family carnival, music, and food vendors from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
