On Thursday, Frito-Lay, a snack company, released a video in which they interviewed their first truck driver who had driven the Tesla Semi on the road. The video showcased a brief conversation with the driver, highlighting their experience driving the electric truck.
The video showcases Eric Bettencourt, a veteran OTR (Over-The-Road) driver, who has driven the electric-powered Tesla Semi from Frito-Lay’s plant in Modesto, California, to Reno, Nevada, which is considered a historic event. During the video, Bettencourt expresses his excitement about the Tesla Semi, stating that it was fun to drive and incredibly quiet.
“You don’t have the exhaust, you don’t have the smell of diesel,” Bettencourt said.
Parent company Pepsi reportedly has 15 Tesla Semis in use at the Modesto Frito-Lay plant.
