Last week, there was heavy snowfall in Portland, Oregon, which created a frustrating situation for hundreds of truck drivers. The snow was so heavy that it made it impossible for them to continue their journey and they experienced a nightmarish backup on I-5. On Wednesday night and Thursday, the city received almost 11 inches of snow which was the second-highest snow total ever recorded in Portland.

The actual amount of snowfall was much more than what was predicted and as a result, it caused major disruptions in the city’s traffic. Many people were forced to abandon their vehicles that got stuck in the snow.

Truckers on I-5 experienced a major traffic jam due to winter weather that caused traffic to come to a standstill from Wednesday to Thursday. Drone footage taken by Portland resident Tom Baker captured the enormity of the situation, showing countless numbers of trucks stranded on northbound I-5. Baker made light of the situation by joking that there were “billions” of tractor trailers stuck on the interstate.
